“Tammy made the experience so fun and magical—and the photos are stunning!”
Some common questions answered for you.
Why did you change your name from Fraley Photography to Studio Q Photography?
It’s a long story, but here’s the short version: I originally named my business after my last name because I thought that’s what you were supposed to do. Over time, I considered changing it—it never felt very creative—but I stuck with it because people knew me as Fraley Photography. Then I realized… why not change it? So I did. The idea came quickly: first a tagline, Live Long In Portraits, then the name—Studio Q Photography. It was available, and I loved it. And yes, the “Q” is a little nod to Star Trek 🖖🏻
How do I book, and how far in advance should I schedule?
Booking is easy—just complete the booking process and pay the session fee to hold your date. Popular seasons (like holiday portraits and senior deadlines) fill quickly, so the earlier you reach out, the more options we’ll have. Please contact me for more info.
What’s included in a session, and how much is the session fee?
Your session fee covers planning, your photo session, image editing, and a dedicated in-studio viewing and ordering appointment.
Printed artwork—wall art, albums, folio boxes, and gift prints—is purchased separately so you can choose exactly what fits your home and budget.
You’ll find current session fees on my Pricing page. For a full product menu and more details, please contact me.
Where do sessions take place?
I photograph in my cozy home studio in Vancouver, WA, and on location around Clark County—parks, rivers, urban spots, or quiet outdoor corners. I’ll help you choose locations that fit your style, your child’s personality, or your senior’s vibe.
What should we wear and how do we prepare?
Stick to solids, textures, or subtle patterns, and avoid neon colors or large logos. Arrive a little early, bring water/snacks (especially for kids), and remove chipped nail polish or temporary tattoos.
After booking, you’ll receive a simple prep and style guide to make getting ready easy.
Do you help with hair, makeup, or special needs?
For seniors, I can recommend professional hair and makeup. I also work gently with shy kids, neurodivergent kiddos, and anyone with sensory needs by keeping sessions calm, flexible, and at their pace. Just let me know what helps your child (or you!) feel most comfortable.
How long does a session last, and what if we need to reschedule?
Most sessions last around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the type of session and how many outfits or setups we’re planning.
For outdoor sessions if the weather is truly stormy, or if someone is sick, we’ll reschedule to the next available date. Soft, overcast days are actually beautiful for photos, so we don’t worry about every little cloud.
When do we see our photos and place an order?
About 2 weeks after your session, you’ll come to the studio for a dedicated viewing and ordering appointment. This is where you’ll see your images for the first time and choose your favorite prints, wall art, and albums. I’ll guide you through everything so it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Do I have to buy a certain amount, and can I get only digital files?
You only purchase the images and products you truly love. My studio is very print-focused, which means we’ll start by designing printed artwork that fits your home—wall portraits, albums, and gift prints. If you need digital images, I do offer digital packages. Contact me for product and digital-file details or to see the full price list.
How and when will we receive our finished artwork?
Once you’ve placed your order, finished artwork typically arrives in a few weeks, depending on what you’ve chosen. I inspect every piece before it leaves the studio to make sure it’s perfect. Your portraits are meant to live long in print—ready to hang, gift, and enjoy every day.
✨ The Magic of Fairy Portraits ✨
Ever wonder how those enchanting fairy portraits come to life? Here at Studio Q Photography, it’s more than just a photo session—it’s an unforgettable experience where imagination takes center stage, and your child becomes the star of their very own fairytale.
The Fairy Wardrobe
Every session begins in the fairy closet! I have a curated collection of handmade wings, flower crowns, and whimsical dresses in a range of sizes. I’ll help your little one pick the perfect outfit that makes them feel magical from the moment they slip it on.
Set the Scene
The studio transforms into an enchanted forest, complete with a pond, a mushroom to sit on, a soft, dreamy backdrop, and fairy magic. Everything is styled to spark wonder and capture timeless storybook charm. I guide each child with simple, playful prompts so their expressions stay joyful and natural.
Capturing the Magic
This is where the magic really happens. With gentle direction and plenty of silly fairy jokes, I capture a variety of poses and moments—whether they’re twirling, whispering secrets to a flying fairy, or just gazing dreamily into the light. The goal is to preserve not just how they look, but how they feel in this moment of wonder.
The Artistry
After your session, I hand-edit each image with care and creativity. Wings are enhanced, sparkles are added, and backgrounds are gently painted with light and whimsy. This is where each portrait becomes a true work of art—something worthy of being framed, treasured, and passed down.
A Fairytale Ending
During your ordering appointment, you'll see the magic unfold. From fine art prints and heirloom albums to wall-worthy canvases, I help you choose pieces that will bring the enchantment of this experience into your home for years to come.
Why I Love Photography
A while ago, I watched the documentary The Way I See It—and OMG. It was powerful, emotional, and deeply moving. It reminded me just how important this work really is.
I mean, I know that... but in the busy day-to-day of running a business, it’s easy to lose sight of the deeper “why.” Photography isn’t just about pretty pictures. It’s about capturing a fleeting moment—one that might otherwise be forgotten. It’s about preserving a piece of now, not just for ourselves, but for our families and for the generations that come after us.
These moments matter. They’re ours to hold onto, and to pass forward.
Don’t ever forget that.
