Why did you change your name from Fraley Photography to Studio Q Photography?
It’s a long story, but here’s the short version: I originally named my business after my last name because I thought that’s what you were supposed to do. Over time, I considered changing it because it never felt very creative, but I stuck with it because people knew me as Fraley Photography. Then I realized… why not change it? So I did. The idea came quickly: first a tagline, Live Long In Portraits, then the name, Studio Q Photography. It was available, and I loved it. And yes, the “Q” is a little nod to Star Trek 🖖🏻

Booking & Availability

How far in advance should I book?
Sessions often fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons, so I recommend booking as far in advance as you can. If you have a special date or senior yearbook deadline, reach out ASAP.

What’s included with the session fee?

How much is your session fee?
Every portrait experience is a little different. The cost depends on the type of session you're planning, such as a child, tween, senior, family, or fairy portrait session.

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, PayPal Credit, Afterpay, and Studio Payment Plans are available. We’ll set up a plan at your ordering appointment.

Where do sessions take place?
I am primarily a studio portrait photographer. My studio is located Vancouver, Washington Close to 205 and Burton Road. My studio where I can create the classic, timeless portraits you see throughout my portfolio. The studio offers a comfortable, private environment with complete control over lighting, weather, and distractions.

For clients who prefer an outdoor setting, I offer a limited number of on-location sessions per year. I'm happy to suggest locations that complement my style and work well for portraits.
If you're not sure which option is right for you, don't worry, we can discuss your ideas and choose the setting that best fits the portraits you envision.

Prep & What to Expect

What should we wear?
Keep it coordinated, not “matchy.” Solid or subtle patterns, layers, and textures photograph beautifully. Avoid neon/logos. I’ll help you with styling and what to wear.

Can you help with hair & makeup?
I do not provide hair and makeup services, but I'm happy to offer tips and suggestions to help you prepare for your session. If you'd like professional styling, you're welcome to schedule those services before your portrait session.

My child is shy/has sensory needs. Can you accommodate?
Yes. I build breaks into the flow, keep instructions simple, and follow your child’s lead. Share any triggers, routines, or supports that help them feel safe and successful.

Any day-of tips?
Arrive a few minutes early, bring water/snacks, and please remove chipped nail polish and temporary tattoos beforehand (they’re tough to retouch).

Session Day

How long will my session last?
The length of your session depends on the type of portrait session you choose and the people being photographed. Some sessions are designed to be quick and simple, while others allow for more time, outfit changes, or a variety of portraits.
When you contact me, I'll explain what to expect for your specific session and make sure we allow plenty of time to create beautiful portraits without feeling rushed. My goal is to work at a comfortable pace so everyone can relax and enjoy the experience.

What if I plan for an outdoor session and the weather is bad?
PNW happens! For outdoor sessions, we’ll watch the forecast and reschedule if needed for heavy rain or high winds. Overcast is actually great for portraits.

What if someone gets sick?
Please let me know as soon as possible. We’ll pick the next available date. Healthy, happy faces make the best photos.

Viewing, Ordering & Investment

When do we see the photos?
About 2 weeks after your session, I’ll invite you back to my studio to view your images and place your order.

Is there a minimum purchase?
No. There is no minimum purchase requirement.
Your session includes a portrait credit that can be applied toward prints, artwork, or digital images, and you'll only purchase what you love. During your ordering appointment, I'll help you explore the options and choose what best fits your home, family, and budget.
My goal is to make the process comfortable and enjoyable, with no pressure and no obligation to purchase beyond your session fee.

Delivery

What’s the turnaround time?
Finished artwork typically takes 4–8 weeks after your order, depending on the product.

How do we receive our order?
Your order will be available for pick up at the studio, so I can quality-check with you.
